Welcome to Elim Fountain of Hope. Here you will discover who we are, what we believe, our values, vision and all our activities. We are a branch of the Elim Pentecostal Churches in UK and Overseas. The Elim Movement comprises of over 550 churches in the UK and Ireland, but we are also linked to over 9,000 Elim churches in other countries.
We have existed in Oldham for over 38 years. From a very small building on Henshaw Street, over 10 years ago, we bought this fantastic building which was formerly The Greenacres Independent Methodist Church Building.
Our Mission is to proclaim the Good news of Jesus Christ. To help Christians become disciples of Jesus Christ and grow into spiritual maturity. We seek to serve people in the community as we practically display the love of God.
We are a multi-cultural church with 8 different nationalities. That of course brings with it the challenges of multi-culturalism, and the Holy Spirit who cuts across cultural barriers have been our help in having a united body that celebrate its diversities.
Thank God for the Holy Spirit that cuts across all cultural barriers. Our mandate is to reach the indigenous communities in our society. So our doors are wide open to all. We have made a good connection with our local community through our youth clubs, Food bank, Cafe and other activities like gardening, free car wash, community fun days and barbecues. It is rewarding to see the kids who were once causing problems now putting something back into the community.
Our vision is to raise champions and impact our community and we achieve that by being a church where people encounter God in Fellowship, Discipleship, Worship, Ministry and Evangelism.
Our Vision Statement
“To build people for Christ through committed membership in His family, develop them to Christ-like maturity in structured discipleship, and equip them for the ministry in the community (the Church) and life of mission in the world through evangelism, so as to fulfil the universal and specific commands of God”.
Our Core Group Values
As a Church, we seek, hold and are guided by these core values:
Relating – we all need friendship and fellowship of a more intimate nature to be at home in a church. Church is family.
Reaching – Cores are always seeking to embrace others, not to be a closed shop. Cores draw in people from the congregation and where applicable draw in those from the crowd of the unsaved. This is very important
Caring – Cores exercise pastoral care for its members, picking up on the needs of its members, and seek to meet those needs.
Sharing – Cores are a place where iron sharpens iron whether in formal teaching or informal conversation. There is also a sharing of lives and encouraging.
Praying – Cores are a place of prayer, to bring each need before God whether formally or informally.
