Safeguarding Policy

Last Updated: [01 September 2023]

At Elim Fountain of Hope, we are committed to creating a safe and welcoming environment for all
members of our congregation, especially vulnerable individuals such as children, young people, and
adults at risk. This policy outlines our approach to safeguarding and how we will ensure the well-being
of everyone who participates in our church activities.
This policy is in effect during all our church activities, events, and engagements involving children,
young people, and adults who may need special attention. This includes our dedicated staff,
volunteers, and leadership team.

Safeguarding values

    • Treating every person with respect, upholding their dignity, and acknowledging their autonomy.
    • We take a proactive stance in preventing harm, abuse, neglect, and exploitation,
implementing concrete measures to ensure everyone’s safety.
    • Concerns or incidents related to safeguarding are promptly reported and managed
      appropriately.
    • We prioritize training and awareness, ensuring that our staff, volunteers, and leaders are well-
versed in safeguarding procedures and fully comprehend their responsibilities.
    • Furthermore, we handle safeguarding matters with the utmost confidentiality, sharing
information only with those directly involved.

Reporting concerns

If you have pressing worries regarding a child or an adult associated with the church, or if you have
